Lake of the Rockies Metro District

The Lake of the Rockies Metro District is situated in Monument, Colorado West of I-25 with incredible views of the mountains, private open space, and easy access to Pike National Forest and Monument Lake.

The primary purpose of the District is to finance the construction and maintenance of public improvements for the use and benefit of all anticipated inhabitants and taxpayers of the District. The District’s Service Plan was approved by the Town of Monument’s Board of Trustees on January 20, 2015. The District is recognized as an independent unit of local government, separate and distinct from the Town.

Herbicide Information
As part of the transition to a new landscape maintenance service provider, the Board has requested information on the chemicals used in weed spraying and make it available in order to address community concerns. The following document has information on the three herbicides that will be used in the District. If you have questions, please reach out to District Management.

Trash Service
Trash service from HBS is active and performed weekly on Tuesdays, with recycling every other week on Tuesdays according to this 2024 schedule.

Lake of the Rockies is serviced early on Tuesdays - please plan to have containers at the curb no later than 7:00am on service day to ensure that pickup can be completed. HBS is no longer able to complete double pick ups for those still utilizing their Waste Management carts and new HBS carts. If you have carts from Waste Management that were not removed from the property, please contact District management to resolve.
